Pockie Ninja PVP Video

Written by: Erila Date: 2011-01-27 Pockie Ninja, the anime MMO from NGames, is due for release Q1, 2011, and will be entering beta soon. To whet our appetites, NGames has released a new video showing the game's PVP.

The process of entering a fight can be just as important as the fight itself, and Pockie Ninja doesn't fail to impress with it's pre-battle menus and options. The character selection and VS menus are drenched in Pockie Ninja's gorgeous character artwork, while key stats and options are presented in tidy segments around the screen.

Meanwhile, it looks like players will be able to purchase and equip a selection of special items to utilize in combat, offering individual customisation options for truly dynamic fights.

Any brawler worth it's weight in salt needs to have impressive special moves and, as previously revealed, Pockie Ninja will include some of the most well known abilities to ever grace the world of anime.

The game's special abilities promise to combine fantastic visuals with awe-inspiring animations, resulting in some truly jaw-dropping combat moments. With over 100 characters to choose from, Pockie Ninja will offer a huge variety of unique powers and moves to experiment with.

Finally, a world map screenshot hints at Pockie Ninja being more than just a straight up brawler. Combined with the images released last week, it looks like NGames are preparing a robust gaming experience containing a whole world to interact with and explore. Will each area have a storyline and an end boss?

NGames promise to reveal more in-game details and screens in the coming days. If you're hungry for more information in the meantime, check out the official Pockie Ninja website.

Pockie Ninja will focus on the unique life and journey of a ninja, entrusted with defeating the world's most evil and destructive warrior corporations.

Restless souls in Demon City have awakened and broken free of their seal, escaping the guarded city.

By using forbidden ninjutsu on innocent animals, turning them into puppet warriors, the evils plan to invade Angel City, release their leader and rule the world again. The abuse of forbidden ninjutsu has caused rapid environment deterioration, washing and rocking the land with tsunamis and earthquakes.

As the last hope of the world and the 'chosen one', the player needs to embrace the ways of the ninja, protect Angel City and restore the natural balance of order, utilizing extraordinary ninja skills along the way.

Majesty Tower Defence - Devenders of Ardania

Written by: Erila Date: 2011-02-01 Dunring the Paradox Interactive Convention this month, Paradox Interactive and Most Wanted Entertainment announced Defenders of Ardania - a next-generation tower defense game that is being developed for four different platforms - PC, iPad, PSN and XBLA. The game is set in the rich fantasy world of Majesty, but adds a twist to the tower defence genre, allowing players to take on the role of the attacker.

Defenders of Ardanias innovative new game concepts include light RTS elements, taking the popular genre to the next level. Players must oversee unit production and upgrades while assembling the most effective army from one of three playable races, each with unique locations, towers, and units. However, without magic, a fantasy game is little more than a toothless lion (or dragon, rather), so a wide range of spells will be available for players to decimate their enemies and protect their forces.

Although Defenders of Ardania includes a single-player portion, the focus of the game is undoubtedly multiplayer, where two to four players can take each other on or compete against AI opponents via Internet, LAN, or PSN. The multiplayer component offers three different game modes where players can assume either the defensive or offensive sides

Fray - Simultaneous Turn Based Strategy

Written by: Erila Date: 2011-02-08 Brain Candy, an independent French game developer, today revealed the first details for its upcoming sci-fi title, Fray, coming to PC and Mac in 2011. Fray is a turn-based, multiplayer, real-time strategy game that eliminates the waiting involved with most turn-based games by introducing simultaneous play.

Fray is a gritty sci-fi game set in 2098, a world where civil society is on the brink of collapse. Three mega-corporations vie for control of the Earth and its remaining resources. In a world where most human interaction is confined to cyberspace, mankind has created a variety of virtual reality modules in which to escape the harsh realities of life and experience the full range of human emotions once known by generations past. Some modules are created for human enjoyment while others have been created to serve more devious purposes. One of the most pivotal virtual environments is the combat module, Fray.

Players will enter Fray with a squad of four characters, each with their own specialties. Outfit your squad with a variety of weapons, items and abilities to prepare them for combat. Once inside, Fray is played in turns, where all players choose their actions simultaneously. When actions are chosen, or the timer has run out, the action then plays out in real time cinematic fashion with dynamic camera angles. By virtue of the simultaneous action selection system, the delay and frustration of most turn-based strategy games has been eliminated.
